NORTHWOOD 2 CONSTRUCTION PRESENTS
THE KEN SEYMOUR MEMORIAL NIGHT
Friday, August 12, 2005
Brockville Ontario Speedway
We know what Lori and Mike Lasalle will be doing with
their Friday evenings this summer – spending it at the race track!
The sport of “dirt racing” is nothing new to Kriska Transportation. Its
founder Ken Seymour was an avid fan and himself a racecar driver. Ken
spent many Friday evenings not only supporting the Brockville Ontario
Speedway, he made it fun for everyone, especially family. It is due to
his presence and support over the years that Lori and Mike dedicated one
of the “Sportsman” racing cars in his memory.
With full support from Brockville Ontario Speedway owners, Cheryl and
Paul Kirkland, Lori and Mike came up with the idea to have a Ken Seymour
Memorial Night sponsored by Northwood 2 Construction. The idea was to
have all proceeds going to the Ken Seymour Foundation at the Kemptville
District Hospital. This 2004 event was a huge success and received so
much support from other drivers and the public, that a second Ken Seymour
Memorial Night will be taking place Friday, August 12, 2005.
Knowing how much family and children meant to Ken the LaSalle’s this year
have added a Kids Boxcar race. This will take place on the same night as
the “Northwood 2 Construction” sponsored night. Also that night will be
lots of prizes to be won. This year the LaSalle’s are donating a bike a
night, plus many other surprises!
Lori and Mike are relatively new to dirt racing and being directly
involved in owning and operating their own cars. This will be their
second year being involved in the sportsman division with their two cars
the #M96 Kriska Car and #12 Northwood 2 Construction car. The Lasalle’s
are thrilled to have the support of Kriska Transportation and are
grateful to be part of its extended family.
LaSalle Motorsports originally started out with dirt racing in Go Karting,
which quickly evolved into their present state. Their final standings at
the Brockville Ontario Speedway proved to be successful, finishing second
in the sportsman division and setting a perfect attendance on Friday
nights. “Not too bad for a local rookie team”.
In the summer of 2004 the Lasalle entered the Sunoco Sportsman Super Dirt
series, which took them into the United States and Canada, placing 15
overall. “Remarkable considering it was their first year, and not
competing on all of the tracks.”
This summer will be a full agenda with the Brockville Ontario Speedway
being the HOME TRACK of the LaSalle’s on Friday evenings. Start up dates
have been confirmed with the “kick-off” being May 13 and races running
until October 22nd.
A Full Sunoco Sportsman Super Dirt Series is planned with the new “Kriska
Racecar. In fact, the new car can be seen at the Brockville Thousand
Island Mall on April 7, 8 9, and 10th along with its drivers.
This sport is rapidly growing and the LaSalle’s encourage people both
young and old to come out and spend a fun, action paced unforgettable
Friday night at the Brockville Ontario Speedway.
The Lasalle’s invite you after the races to go and meet with them and
their drivers where family and children are always welcome!
