For the first time in two years, the Kriska Safety and Training Department gathered in person for our annual OTR Trainer Conference at our main terminal in Prescott, ON. We brought together our Trainers from across the province for two days of learning to help them excel at their jobs, preparing our new drivers to be the best drivers in the industry.
We started with visits from Fleet Manager Marcel Boisvenue, who talked about the latest truck technology, and then an update on the industry and business from General Manager Tammy Cryderman. Our first day ended with some fun team-building laser tag and unwound with a group dinner. On our second day, Safety Manager Tara Whiteman brought trainers up to speed on current transportation safety trends. Also, on the second day, we celebrated the birthday of Trainer Greg Cook.

A highlight of the "train the Trainers" event was an educational Pre-Trip Inspection review led by Peter Durant, Senior OTR Trainer. Drawing from more than two decades of experience, Peter demonstrated his detailed process for performing a Pre-Trip Inspection.
It's a rare and welcome opportunity to bring the Kriska Trainers and the Safety and Training Team together to share knowledge, skills, and stories from their time on the road. They are a dedicated group of transportation professionals who love teaching the skills that help drivers get the most out of their work and help them be safer while on the road.
